A maze is a collection of missions and questions for testers to complete. You build your maze out of blocks: missions, questions, or additional screens. Learn about the different types of blocks you can use in your maze.

Important: Every maze needs to include at least one mission block so you can test your prototype with users.

You will find all block types on the right-side panel of the maze draft page. To create a maze, you need to import a prototype—this will automatically create a new project with a draft maze inside.

Open the draft maze, and start building your new maze by adding blocks.

Mission blocks

A mission is a task for testers to complete. To create a mission, you need to set a title, a description, and an expected path by clicking on hotspots in your prototype. Read more about Mission blocks.

Multiple Choice

A Multiple Choice is a question with multiple answers to choose from. Typically, this is used for closed-ended questions when respondents have to select one answer. You can also allow multiple selection answers by choosing multi-select. Read more about Multiple Choice.

Open Question

An Open Question allows you to ask Wh- or open-ended questions. You can choose from text, numbers, date, or email answer types. Read more about Open Questions.

Context Screen

A Context Screen is an extra screen you can add to your maze where you want to add context, explain the next part of the maze, or communicate something to your testers. You can add a title and a description. Testers will have to click “Continue” to move to the next block. Read more about Context Screens.

Opinion Scale

An Opinion Scale question allows you to ask testers to rate a statement on a scale. You can adjust the scale to include up to 10 steps and write labels for the left, middle, and right of the scale. Read more about Opinion Scale.

Yes/No

A Yes/No question allows you to ask testers a closed-ended question where the answer is either ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Read more about Yes/No questions.
